Think of all things nature - from rain to monsoons, Summer warmth to drought and fire, the change of seasons, rain, hail and shine, from minuscule bacteria and viruses to extinct mammalian megabeasts and reptilian dinosaurs. Think of humans, the cities we build and the animals who have had to move on, to the industrious birds, mammals and insects thriving among human life.
Nature is everywhere. Even in places, you would not expect, there are living things.
My passion is all things nature.
There has been a lot of chat in the news for many years now (from activists) about how humans are ruining the planet in one way or another. In some ways I can absolutely agree, but why don't we sit back a little and watch nature at work?
Let's talk about survival and evolution.
Survival happens day to day and evolution happens over years, sometimes as few as decades, but usually as long as centuries and millennia, evolution is ongoing and to survive, is to do just that until one dies.
Sounding bleak?
Not to me.
You see, I know that every living thing has a story. We are seemingly so wrapped up in our day to day lives (trust me, I am very guilty of this) that we forget to notice how amazing this world is!
I never doubt nature, because nature never doubts me.
I am not a religious person, I have studied science, but I wouldn't call myself a scientist. I am more agnostic than anything. If there are aliens out there, then good for them. If God is watching over us, cool, if we are the only living things with no special superpowers or a higher power watching over us, that's cool too. My point is, what does it matter what is or isn't out there in the mysterious sky or below us, have you noticed what you really can see around you?
Don't doubt your own eyes. The way a tree trunk curves to hold all of its magnificent leaves, fruit or whatever a tree holds. Don't doubt your ears when you hear a bird singing, it took years of evolution for that bird to know that tune. Beneath your feet, there are millions of insects and spiders minding their own business.I have been studying for the last seven years of my life and I am ready to write about all things nature. I am a storyteller based on facts and I hope that you will enjoy this blog and all of the amazing things in this world. My passion lies in Australian nature, but I will also be mentioning other amazing snapshots of nature around the world.
So for now, stay tuned and let us both see what we can learn from nature!
Lauren
